ABOUT US

Raelee’s Legacy is a non-profit organization established to both bring attention to Febrile Seizures in children through Research and Education as well as provide benevolent assistance for families affected this medical condition.

The organization’s namesake, Raelee Parris, was a bright, loving, and happy three-year- old boy who went to be with God on the 18 th day of December, 2015. The news of Raelee’s passing was, to say the least, devastating to his parents, siblings, extended family, church family, and community. Soon after his passing, Raelee’s family learned what caused his death: a Febrile Seizure was to blame.

What is a Febrile Seizure? The short answer is: a seizure caused by a spike in a child’s body temperature. This type of seizure most commonly affects children between 6 months of age and 3 years old. These seizures can last from a few seconds to more than 15 minutes. In many medical circles,

Febrile Seizures are categorized as “convulsions that have no long term health problems”. Febrile Seizures Can Be Deadly.
